Joshua_KlitschoAnthony Joshua produced the performance of his career at the 90,000 seater Wembley Stadium when he beat Wladimir Klitschko by Technical Knock Out in the 11th round to add the WBA Super Heavyweight title to his IBF belt.

Soon after his victory, Joshua wasted no time putting the calories back into his system by chowing down on a huge table full of food while declaring through his personal Twitter account, “I’m hungry.”

He sat happily at the head of the table, with bowls of different meats and sauces, along with a hearty portion of fresh pasta, in front of him. “No table etiquette, I’m hungry,” wrote Joshua, who also recently admitted he would continue with his hard work, despite the fight having come and gone.

Joshua is a grounded individual, but he is not prepared to slow down in his pursuit of greatness. He is hungry for more than food; he is hungry for success. That’s why his principle is to “Stay Hungry.”

Joshua said, “When it’s all said and done, it’s not the man who shouts the loudest, but the man with the most hunger that will emerge from battle victorious.”

Does this remind you of Philippians 3: 12-14 “Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on …, I do not consider that I have made it. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal…”?

Although he has three world titles to show for it, Joshua is still hungry for much more. He has chosen to press on, he does not consider himself to have made it, but instead he is focused on bigger goals that lie ahead.Jsh

One thing we all must learn from Joshua is to stay hungry. It doesn’t matter what you have achieved, you can still press on for more.

Joshua’s hunger is not only based on his forward-looking approach to life, but also his past experiences and challenges. His hunger is founded on an unwavering belief that no matter what stage and status you are at in life, never forget where you came from and where you are going. If you remember how tough it was in the past, you will work hard to ensure that you have a brighter future.

Even when you reach the pinnacle of your profession, there is always more that can be learned and achieved. Don’t ever let the hunger leave you. You must stay hungry.

Maintaining goals in your life is the key to constant development within your character and personality, and it is when this hunger leaves you that you begin to stagnate. So keep moving forward, no matter how good or bad things get, and always stay hungry.

Joshua is humble enough to believe there are many people he can learn from, and adds that “boxing is like a circus,” in the sense that a lot of attention is on him.

After defeating Klitschko, Joshua threw his arms in the air as deafening roars echoed around Wembley in what was his toughest test to date. He answered many questions that had been asked of him before the fight: Some asked if he was he too inexperienced for Klitschko, one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. Others wondered if he would be able to go deep into a fight for the first time. Many questioned if his chin hold up?

The morning after the fight of his life, he arranged his title belts for a photo shoot with the press. They were red, green and dark blue, all decorated with gold. His ambition is always to get ahead, never to stay in the same position. “I’d never sit with kids who’ve had it tough and say, stay where you are.” The ambition is to move forward, and that’s what I’ll always preach,” said Joshua.

Joshua is hungry for more success, if there is anything you can learn from this young boxer, it is to Stay Hungry.
